[edit] History

Before Sriwijaya FC founded, PSPS alongside PSMS Medan were teams with best reputations at Sumatera. They have got their best era during 2002-2004 when most of national team players, like Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto, Hendro Kartiko and Uston Nawawi played there. PSPS started going downhill since they got stucked at Premier Division before getting promoted to Super League in 2009-10 season.
